Product Release: UCI Status Manager

ProIO releases a new plugin for the Q-SYS platform aimed at making information screens more accessible for low vision and colorblind users.

The UCI Status Manager plugin is an essential tool for system integrators to not only collect all status monitoring of peripheral devices into a single location, but to translate those statuses visually into easier to recognize icons, texts, and colors.

Implementing the use of icons to help convey fault and status information rather than relying solely on color makes status information more easily accessible to those who are colorblind and increases rapid recognition and read time for all users.  The plugin also allows for text label indication which can further reduce ambiguity that icons or colors alone can create.

UCI Status Manger builds on top of the Q-SYS ecosystem by implementing the same status nomenclature and meanings and creating a new intermediate status of "Healed".  Certain status values can be selected for latching where the plugin will retain that state and transition to Healed if the fault rectifies itself before an operator has a chance to witness the problem.  Fault latching aides response teams in finding and troubleshooting problems that occur sporadically and unpredictably.
